One of the best ways to discover unique attractions and landmarks near our Catskills resort is by simply heading out for a drive. However, there are some spots that every visitor should try to visit at least once.
- Found right at Emerson Resort is a kaleidoscope, which the Guinness Book of World Records recognized as the largest one in the world in 1997. Experience the beauty and color of this attraction with the Kaleidoshow, which is open throughout the week except for Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
- Take in stunning views from the top of the Tremper Mountain Fire Tower. To reach the tower, you’ll need to make your way along the roughly six-mile out-and-back trail that is on the steep side, so we don’t recommend making the journey with younger children.
- Learn about the history of a nearby small town at the Town of Shandaken Historical Museum. Found off Academy Street in Pine Hill, the museum features several artifacts that tell the story of local family genealogy and history.
- If planning a visit to the town of Kingston, be sure to stop by the Rondout Lighthouse. Built and lit in 1915, this structure is still fully operational as a navigational light. Let a knowledgeable guide show you around and tell you the history of the historic landmark.
- The Den of Marbletown is several points of interest in one location. Celebrate childhood memories at the Teddy Bear Museum, or look for the perfect souvenir in the gift shop. Stop by the cafe to try one of their more than 40 bubble tea flavors.
