Guest Policies

To protect our environment and the planet, room refreshes are provided by request for stays longer than three days. We want to ensure your comfort, please feel free to contact the Front Desk if you need fresh towels, coffee pods, etc.

Payment
A deposit of 50% is required to guarantee your reservation. The remaining balance due is payable in full upon check-in by cash, credit card or travelers checks. Additional charges incurred during the stay including but not limited to, Emerson Spa, Catamount restaurant and retail purchases will be charged to the credit/debit card on file upon check-out (if not paid for at the time of service). If paying with an Emerson Gift Card or Emerson Gift Certificate, a 50% deposit is required for any additional charges over and above the value of the gift card/certificate.  The original gift card/certificate must be presented at check-in; the Emerson is not responsible for lost or stolen gift cards or gift certificates.

Check-In/Check-Out
Check-in is at 4:00 p.m. and check-out is at 11:00 a.m.  We’re sorry, but we cannot accommodate early check-ins or late check-outs.  If the room is not vacated by 11:00 a.m., a $50 fee will be charged to the credit card on file.  Additional charges may be assessed (up to and including the full room rate) if you continue to occupy the room after 11:00 a.m.

Maximum Occupancy
Maximum occupancy per room is strictly adhered to. Names and birthdates of all guests occupying a room must be provided prior to check-in. You will also be asked for your ID upon arrival. If your name was not provided by the guest who made the reservation, you will not be allowed access to the room. A minimum cleaning fee of $150 will be applied to the credit card on file if it is determined that maximum occupancy has been exceeded without our knowledge.

We welcome families and understand you may be traveling with children. The following exceptions can be made to allow no more than two additional children in the room:
Children 5 and under: free
Children 6-17: $50 per night, per child
Young adults between the ages of 18 and 21 will require a 2nd room, accompanied by a parent or older adult over 21.

A limited number of cribs are available by advance request only (first come, first serve). Please be aware not all rooms can accommodate a crib and no other additional bedding outside of the existing bed configuration in our guest rooms will be provided.

Taxes and Fees
Overnight rates are subject to applicable New York State and local taxes, and a 10% Resort Fee. The Resort Fee is applied to the room rate only for access to, but not limited to, the pool, Emerson Fitness Center, workshop and wellness programming, room amenities, room phone usage and parking. The Resort Fee is also applied to maintenance of property amenities such as WiFi, sports and/other equipment, public spaces and parking.

Cancellation Policy
Your reservation is guaranteed by a 50% deposit charged to your credit card upon booking. Cancellations made more than 7 days prior to your arrival date will receive a refund of the deposit less a $100 processing fee per reservation. Cancellations made less than 7 days of your arrival date will result in a forfeit of the entire deposit.

No Show
Reservations which are not cancelled, and for which a guest fails to arrive, will be charged for the room charge and applicable taxes for the entire reserved stay.

Late Arrival/Early Departure
Rates are not adjusted for late arrival or early departure. You will be charged for the full reserved time period if you decide to shorten your stay.

Luggage Assistance for 2nd Floor Rooms
There is no elevator access to 2nd floor rooms.  We are happy to provide any assistance needed if you are staying on a 2nd floor.  If you have difficulty with stairs, please advise our Reservations department to request a first floor room and/or a room location that is easily accessible and ensures your comfort.

Non-Smoking Policy/Damages
The Emerson Resort & Spa is a smoke free property. Smoking is not permitted in guest rooms or any other indoor areas of the resort. A minimum deep cleaning fee of $250 will be applied to the credit card on file if it is determined that any presence of smoking exists. Should the room incur any damages as a result of your stay, a fee commensurate to any deep cleaning/repair costs incurred will be applied to the credit card on file.

Pet Policy
We are honored to host quiet, well behaved dogs. With only specific pet friendly room options available, it is necessary to include your dog in your reservation at the time of booking. We will not be able to accommodate unregistered dogs. There is a $60 per dog, per night fee. Proof of current rabies and distemper vaccination is required prior to check-in. To assure the comfort of other guests, please supervise your dog(s) at all times – dog(s) must not be left in your room alone. Please keep in mind dog(s) are not allowed in the pool area, Catamount restaurant or the Spa. For the safety of your dog(s) and our guests, please make sure your pet is leashed whenever out of your room and on Emerson property. We encourage you to notify the Front Desk when you and your dog plan to be out of the room so that Housekeeping can safely service your room. There is a $250 fee should the room require deep cleaning following the stay of your pet (this also includes additional cleaning as a result of any traces of urine or feces in the room).

If your dog disturbs other guests, the Emerson may have no choice but to refuse to continue to accommodate your pet. You agree to defend and indemnify the Emerson for any injuries, damages or loss of revenue to the Emerson or a third party caused by your pet. This may include discounts that are made to other guests to address complaints regarding your pet. The Emerson reserves the right to charge your credit card provided at check-in for cleaning fees, fees commensurate to the cost of any damages, and loss of revenue as a result of discounts that are made to other guests to address complaints regarding your pet.

Emerson Spa Policy
We strongly suggest making Emerson Spa reservations as quickly as possible by calling our Reservations department at 845-688-2828. Emerson Spa availability is not guaranteed and some or all services may not be available upon check-in. If you have an Emerson Spa appointment, please check-in at the Emerson Spa Desk 20 minutes prior to your first scheduled appointment. Cancellations for any reason made less than 48 hours prior to your appointment time will be charged 100% of the full treatment cost. If you arrive late, your treatment time may be cut short or rescheduled. All no-show appointments will be charged at full value.

Catamount
Overnight stays do not guarantee a reservation at the Catamount restaurant. Please contact us at 845-688-2828 for reservations.

Cell Phone Service
While taking advantage of our location in the Catskill Mountains, please keep in mind that there is generally no cell phone coverage in Mt. Tremper and cell phone reception is not guaranteed.  It is important to note that Verizon and At&t work best.  We also suggest enabling WiFi calling on your cell phone.  The quality of reception will not constitute a refund or discount of stay.

Phone calls
All phone calls made to locations within the United States from your room phone are complimentary – just dial the area code and phone number you wish to reach and press the dial now button on your phone.

Wireless Internet Access
High speed wireless internet is complimentary throughout the entire property. Reception will vary based on your device. The quality of reception does not constitute a refund or discount of stay.

EV Charging
Eight complimentary Tesla charging stations are located in the Inn parking lot.  This includes two stations configured to accept non-Tesla adaptors.  These stations charge your car at an average speed of 29MPH.

Cooking Policy
All cooking devices, grilling equipment and open flame of any nature is strictly prohibited. Open flame cooking and/or open flame on property is considered a fire hazard. Additional fees will be charged to the credit card on file if it is determined that any presence of cooking/open flame in the room, decks or any outside spaces on property exists. You agree to defend and indemnify the Emerson for any injuries, damages or loss of revenue to the Emerson or a third party caused by cooking/open flame on property. This may include discounts that are made to other guests to address complaints and/or charges issued as a result of dispatch of the fire department. The Emerson reserves the right to charge your credit card provided at check-in commensurate to the cost of any damages or loss of revenue.

Loss of Property
The Emerson Resort & Spa is not liable for damage to or loss of any personal property. If you misplace an item, please contact the Front Desk and we will check Lost & Found.

Quiet Time
Please be respectful of your neighbors and maintain quiet time from 10pm to 8am.

Zero Tolerance
We are committed to providing a safe and respectful environment.  Abusive and aggressive behavior of any kind will not be tolerated.  The Emerson reserves the right to address violations of this policy by asking you to leave the property and/or reporting inappropriate conduct to the proper authorities.
