Check Out The World’s Largest Kaleidoscope 
Our record-setting kaleidoscope offers a captivating show of motion, color, and sound inside a towering silo. It’s a unique experience for all ages with free admission for children under 12 and overnight guests. After the show, stop by the Kaleidostore to browse playful toys, kaleidoscopes, and science-themed gifts!

Explore The Grounds 

Set on a spacious, scenic property, The Emerson offers plenty of room to roam, relax, and take in the natural beauty of the Catskills. 

Take a peaceful stroll through Brookside Wander, our protected streamside environment created in partnership with the Catskill Streams Buffer Initiative. Along the way, learn about native plant species, pollinator meadows, streamside ecology, and how natural buffers help reduce flooding. Guided walks are available—check with the Front Desk for current offerings. 

In warmer weather, resort guests can take advantage of complimentary bike rentals to explore more of the grounds on two wheels. Summertime is perfect for afternoons spent poolside—whether you’re in the water with the kids or lounging nearby with a book, it’s a beautiful spot to unwind and enjoy the sunshine. 

Go Birdwatching 

Borrow complimentary binoculars and an official birding guide by The Emerson to track bald eagles, great blue herons, and over 194 bird species at the Esopus Creek or Ashokan Rail Trail.

Our charming shops offer a curated, indoor shopping experience where you can find boutique fashion, stylish home décor, and outdoor goods. Kids will enjoy browsing toys, games, and fun Catskills souvenirs.

Enjoy Campfire Nights  
Gather around the fire on Friday and Saturday evenings (weather permitting) and look up at the beautiful upstate stars. S’mores kits are available at the Front Desk for $5—just the thing to sweeten the end of a perfect day.
